We were often going to the Kensington leisure centre before which is decently nice and slightly cheaper than Maqam, but we would choose Maqam any day, even though it’s further from us and more than the other, as the entire place and facilities are beautiful and clean. The cafe was great too. The issue, however, why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because similar to what another reviewer expressed, there just aren’t enough family swim times in the week to make it accessible. There’s a lot more this week because there’s the term break, and I understand that they run many swim lessons during term time which take up a chunk of time slots, but I also agree with the other reviewer’s suggestion that some of the 12-14 weekly female only sessions, lasting 60 minutes each, could be put towards the family swim (and I’m a female myself). The only two family swim slots are 45 minutes each on Thursday at 12:15 and Sunday at 5pm which fall during most children’s lunch/dinner times, or parents’ working times. Otherwise it can be an excellent place to come more often.
